Meet Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, Onyinyechi Basil

Nigeria has a new queen! Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, succeeding last year’s winner, Chidinma Adetshina. The glamorous finale took place at the Eko Hotels & Suites’ Convention Center in Lagos, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson.

A Fierce Contest

The 25-year-old triumphed over 21 other contestants after impressing the judges through the swimwear, traditional attire, evening gown, and Q&A rounds.

  • First Runner-up: Damilola Bolarinde (Lagos)
  • Second Runner-up: Fortune Kurobo (Bayelsa)
  • Third Runner-up: Irene Ikediashi (Ogun)
  • Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025: Idah Eno (Akwa Ibom)

At her crowning moment, Onyinyechi delivered a heartfelt message:

“I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.”

Her win comes with cash rewards, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and platforms for personal and professional growth.

Anambra’s Growing Legacy in Pageantry

Onyinyechi’s victory adds to Anambra’s pageant pedigree. She follows in the footsteps of Unoaku Anyadike (2016) and Maristella Okpala (2021), both from Anambra, who left memorable marks on the global stage.
