Nollywood is grieving a painful loss as Seun Confirm has passed away. The actor, who is popularly known by his stage name, Seun Confirm was a rising Yoruba actor. The heartbreaking news broke on Thursday, August 14, 2025, when his colleague Jaiye Kuti confirmed his death via Instagram.

Jaiye Kuti’s Emotional Tribute on Instagram

In her deeply emotional post, Jaiye wrote, “Seun Confirm. Your death pains me greatly. High BPH. We shall meet at the feet of Jesus. Sleep well, and may God comfort your family.”

For the Nollywood community, this loss comes just weeks after another sad farewell to actress Omotola Odunsi, adding to a growing sense of tragedy within the industry. The cause of Seun Confirm’s death was attributed to complications from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate. While this illness is typically manageable, BPH can become life-threatening if complications arise.

Seun Confirm’s Career and Impact on Yoruba Nollywood

Over the years, Seun Confirm had steadily built a reputation as a versatile actor, film producer, and master of ceremonies. He earned recognition for his performances in Yoruba-language films such as Osole, Eru Aye, Ajoke Apesin, and Mr. Jerico. Audiences came to appreciate his ability to deliver compelling storylines through his works.

Seun was not only a talented actor but also a force behind the scenes. He earned recognition for outstanding roles in Yoruba Nollywood productions, including Osole, Eru Aye, Ajoke Apesin, and Mr. Jerico. However, acting was just one aspect of his versatile talent. He also produced films, hosted events as a master of ceremonies, and even created narratives of his own, through writing and production of the movie, Asise. Asise explored a family torn apart by misunderstandings and eventually healed through divine intervention.

His creativity in production also extended into the establishment of his label, Seun Confirm Entertainment. This largely  showcased the kind of self-starting drive that he had in carving out a broader place for himself in the industry. Hence, his versatile talent was felt not just in front of the camera but also backstage.

Tributes from Colleagues and Fans

Upon hearing the news, a colleague and fellow actor Oluwaseyi Edun, remembered their recent interaction in July, saying and expressed her sadness.

She wrote, “Unquestionable God. Seun, you chatted with me on 27 July. You still wished me happy last Sunday of the month.” These words definitely echo the shock felt by colleagues who saw his passing as deeply sudden.
