Portable Set To Release New EP “Ogo Most Wanted” Amid Police Saga

Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has once again turned controversy into content. The street-hop star, known for his ability to capitalize on viral moments, has announced a new EP, Ogo Most Wanted, just days after surrendering to police over an alleged assault on government officials.

Portable made headlines earlier this month when the Ogun State Police declared him wanted. According to the police, the singer and a group of thugs attacked three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The enforcement officers were reportedly carrying out their duties at Odogwu Bar, a property linked to Portable, when the altercation occurred. Authorities claimed Portable used a firearm and other weapons during the attack, leaving the officials injured before fleeing the scene. Nine of his alleged accomplices were arrested, but the singer remained on the run. In a recent post, iNaijanow shared a video of the zazuu crooner calling on Nigerians to save him from the troubles of government officials.

Despite multiple police invitations, Portable avoided surrendering until February 19, when he turned himself in at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department before being transferred to the Ogun State Police Command in Abeokuta. His arrival was confirmed by police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, who stated that the matter would be handled according to legal procedures.

A source within the Ogun State Police Command confirmed that Portable’s legal team is negotiating for a possible out-of-court settlement, though no official confirmation has been made.

Shortly after being granted bail, Portable wasted no time seizing the moment. He took to Instagram to announce Ogo Most Wanted, his latest project. For fans familiar with Portable’s career, this move isn’t surprising. Since bursting into the mainstream with his Olamide-assisted hit Zazzu Zeh in 2021, the singer has consistently used controversy to stay relevant.

Earlier this year, he released a diss track aimed at Asake, mocking the Grammy-nominated artist for failing to secure an award at the 67th Grammys. In 2024, Portable capitalized on the viral “I Am A Chosen” trend by dropping the Chosen EP. His track Spiderman was inspired by an incident where he was recorded scaling a fence to avoid arrest over unpaid debts on his luxury G-Wagon Brabus.

His biggest hit since Zazzu Zeh came from a collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta on Tony Montana. The song’s success led him to release the Tony Montana of London EP during his time in the UK. Similarly, after a tour in Canada, he dropped Canadian Burger in early 2025.

With Ogo Most Wanted, Portable appears to be following his usual playbook. While the strategy has kept him relevant, it has also resulted in concerns about his ability to stay out of trouble. After securing bail, he promised to turn a new leaf and avoid further legal troubles. Fans are eager to hear what Ogo Most Wanted has to offer and Portable may just be on his way to the next big hit.
