Aisha Lawal Refutes Allegations of Receiving Car Gift from MC Oluomo
Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Aisha Lawal has strongly denied viral allegations that she received a Toyota Venza from Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). The rumor, which began circulating after NURTW chieftain Baba Bistijabah made the claim in a video, has been dismissed by Lawal as “false, defamatory, and an attempt to tarnish” her reputation.
In the controversial video, Baba Bistijabah alleged that MC Oluomo collected a blue Venza from him and gifted it to Lawal. But during a recent appearance on the Talk To B podcast, the actress shut down the claims with directness and visible frustration.
“One man, an adult, I wondered if it was a setup or if he smoked weed, sat and set a camera and said MC Oluomo collected a blue Venza from him and gave it to me. I didn’t collect any car. Why would I die mysteriously when I didn’t eat mysteriously?”

Who Is Aisha Lawal?
Aisha Lawal Oladunni is one of Nollywood’s most respected Yoruba actresses. Born and raised in Ibadan, Oyo State, she comes from a disciplined, middle-class home. Her educational background is as impressive as her film résumé,
she holds a Law degree and a second degree in Public Administration from Lead City University, Ibadan.
She ventured into Nollywood in 2008 after graduating from Femi Adebayo’s J-15 School of Performing Arts, and quickly made her mark with roles in Yoruba-language films like Adunmadeke and Irugbin. Since then, she’s acted in over 100 films including Simbi Alamala, Okirika, Shadows, and recent Netflix hits like Aníkúlápó and Jagun Jagun.
As a producer, she has also released successful projects such as Opon Ife, Imu Nika, and Crossroads, where she not only starred but also led the production.
Lawal is known for her versatility, talent, and no-nonsense approach to her work. She has earned nominations at major industry awards, including the City People Awards and Best of Nollywood Awards.
Her Private Life
Despite her fame, Aisha Lawal is intensely private about her personal life. She is married to Tino Eddie, a businessman based in Turkey, and they share a daughter, Zizi. Lawal reportedly kept her marriage and pregnancy out of the public eye, giving birth after a decade-long wait.
She lives by traditional Yoruba values and maintains a guarded social media presence, choosing to focus on her career rather than public attention.
Backlash Over the Allegation
The viral car gift claim has raised eyebrows not just for its boldness but also for how it targets Lawal’s clean image. The actress made it clear that she built her career on talent, education, and persistence—not political or personal favors.
“My brand stands on talent, sweat, and consistency… I won’t let false stories shake me. Let them talk. The truth will always outlive lies,” she said on the podcast.
With her growing prominence as both an actress and producer, any controversy risks affecting brand deals, endorsements, and her credibility in the industry. While Lawal has not indicated legal action yet, observers believe she may consider a defamation suit if the rumor persists.
Neither MC Oluomo nor Baba Bistijabah has released additional comments or evidence since the claim went public. Lawal appears to be taking the high road focusing on her work while distancing herself from the drama.
