Today is February 13th and Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, February 14th. Valentine’s Day is a time for love, romance, affection and exchange of gifts. It can also be a time for disappointment and heartache. As a lady, you’ll fall on either side of the coin on Valentine’s Day.
If your man says any of these 5 things to you on February 13th, it could mean you should forget about celebrating Valentine’s Day with him.
- I forgot to buy you a gift
If your man can’t even remember to buy a gift on Valentine’s Day Eve, it may be a sign that he is not prioritizing your relationship. If he tells you, “Oops, I forgot your gift.” He is not thinking about you. Valentine’s Day is a time for thoughtful gestures and romantic surprises. Therefore, if your man forgets the basics (buying of gift for you), it’s a red flag.
- I’m busy with work, so we can’t celebrate
Valentine’s Day is a special day that deserves attention and effort. If your man is too busy to celebrate with you, it may be a sign that he is not committed to your relationship. One of the common excuses is “I’m swamped with work, so we can’t celebrate anything.”
- You’re being too demanding
If your man makes you feel guilty for wanting to celebrate Valentine’s Day or you express your feelings, and he tells you, “You’re being clingy,” it means you should forget Valentine’s Day. A healthy relationship is built on mutual respect, trust, and communication, so if your man makes you feel bad for being yourself, it’s time to tell him the gospel truth.

What will be the value of your relationship if both of you don’t think of being together on Valentine’s Day, exchanging gifts, and sharing good memories? Your man and you could decide to go on a romantic boat ride to celebrate the ‘love holiday.’ It shouldn’t necessarily be in restaurants or indoors every February 14th.
- I don’t believe in Valentine’s Day
Your man calls you today and tells you “I’m not into Valentine.” You don’t need to second-guess that he won’t get you anything. While it’s okay if your man isn’t into the commercial aspect of Valentine’s Day, a complete dismissal of the celebration of love may be a sign that he is not interested in re-igniting your love and relationship.
- I need some time alone
Before today, your man had never called to tell you, “I need some space.” However, he called you on Valentine’s Eve and said this statement.
Valentine’s Day is a time for togetherness and intimacy, therefore if your man asks you for space or time alone, it may be a sign that he hasn’t invested in the Valentine part of your relationship.
Valentine’s Day should be fun. It is a good time to check in with each other. If your guy says any of the five things highlighted above today either by phone calls or messages, it might be time to have a serious conversation with him.
Dear ladies, you all deserve to be loved, appreciated, and not despised and rejected on Valentine’s Day
