The Second day of the ongoing Zuma International Film Festival 2024 unfolded with a vibrant mix of creativity, education, and inspiration at the Chida Events Centre, Abuja. 

The morning began with a deep dive into the Film Trade Forum and Film Finance Masterclass, where South Africa’s Michael Auret captivated participants with his expertise. From the intricacies of financing a film from script to screen to strategic market positioning, Auret’s insights were a treasure trove for filmmakers. Curated film screenings offered visual demonstrations to reinforce the lessons, sparking an enlightening discussion. The session closed with an engaging Q&A, fostering dialogue between aspiring filmmakers and industry veterans.

Meanwhile, the Emerging Talents Segment celebrated the theme “Embracing the Future: Empowering the Next Generation.” Nora Awolowo took center stage, presenting alongside Canon, which unveiled its latest cutting-edge model – a delight for tech-savvy creatives. Awolowo’s session offered practical guidance for emerging talents to harness technology and creativity effectively. The audience, filled with budding storytellers, left the session invigorated, their questions answered in depth.

Adding to the morning’s inspiration, seasoned actor ‘Uncle Sam’ delivered an electrifying class on breaking into Nollywood. With a mix of humor and wisdom, he shared strategies for building a career in acting, from navigating casting processes to crafting a standout personal brand. His candid insights resonated with attendees, offering a real-world perspective on the highs and lows of the profession.

Experts and veterans in the film industry are not left out

Stakeholders who call the shot in the movie industry have actively participated in the Zuma International Film Festival. Among the gladiators at the Film Festival are the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Ali Nuhu, and globally recognized film producer, Kunle Afolayan. Exploring Intellectual Property and Closing with Magic on Screen
