Whoever said “Love doesn’t cost a dime” was lying. Love could cost you everything. I opened my X (Twitter) account and saw that 2Face (now called 2Baba) was trending. He’s trending and you don’t know why? Here is what happened.
Nigerian artist, 2Face Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has announced that he and his wife, Annie Macauley, are divorcing. He stated this in a recent post on his Instagram causing a buzz online. Some moments later, 2Baba disclosed that his Instagram account had been hacked. And then later said it wasn’t hacked, “Na me talk wetin I wan talk,” he said.
He promised to explain his side of the story to all his fans and prove his innocence.
2Face & Annie - Beginning, Middle & End
2Face and Annie have been married for 12 years and have two kids, although they claim to have been separated for a while before filing for a divorce. They have two kids
Annie claims to have met him at the age of 15. She claimed it was love at first sight and they had always known they were meant for one another.
He was 24 and Annie was 15. Back then he used to walk her from 201 in FESTAC to the major road outside Festac, he would have to hold her hands and they would run across the road together! Once she entered a bus, he would wait till it was full and wave at her till the bus was out of sight.
Between the ages of 15 and when Annie and 2Face married, 2Face gave birth to many kids. He had a son from Perro Adeniyi, a doctor from a very wealthy family. He had two kids from Sandra, a diamond and gold dealer. He also had two kids from Sumbo, an intelligent first-class lawyer.
He claimed to have married Annie because she was from an average background like him, and they both started from nothing. He talked about how she stuck by him through it all. When 2Face had no car she hopped on bikes, took the bus, and trekked with him, when there was no money or house or hit songs or or millions of albums sold or big awards and accolades, when he used to repeat just 3 sets of clothes, she would always hold his head, look into his eyes and tell him things will be fine one day.
When he wasn’t handsome, she would call him her Prince Charming, when he wasn’t celebrated, she called him her KING and said she was his number one fan.
Even when he made it big as a musician and started misbehaving and controversies almost destroyed his career, she would go down on her knees and pray to God to show him the way and give him victory over his enemies.
2Face revealed he married Annie because she offered all when they had very little.
Now, after all these things, they are getting divorced.

Fans and online inlaws are livid about it. Why? Because 2Face has one too many accounts of infidelity, baby mamas, and a whole lot of embarrassing situations that have publicly involved his wife, Annie.
Some claim that his timing is off. Sometime last year, Annie suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage while expecting twins. The past few weeks and months have been hell for Annie Idibia, considering the intense backlash she has faced online. They believe that he should have waited for a more opportune time. His poorly timed announcement is not insensitive but disappointing, especially given Annie’s recent struggles.
Some people also claim that they pity Annie because she has been through a lot with 2Face, and now he has the effrontery to post about a divorce. In their words “Never stand by a man when he has nothing. He will leave you when he has everything.”
Other top stars like Toke Makinwa, and Ifedayo Agoro (DANG!) have taken to social media to defend Annie and stand on her side. Some women believe that this would be some form of liberation for Annie.
