The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has officially opened its recruitment portal for entry-level teaching positions in public secondary schools.

The applications, which started on Tuesday, July 1 to Monday will close on July 14, 2025. Under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, improving education is a top priority. TESCOM’s recruitment is aimed at closing the teacher gap, and promoting fair access to employment. Additionally, it is aimed at enhancing instructional quality in all Lagos State public schools.  

Who Is Eligible?

TESCOM seeks to hire Entry-Level Teachers (Grade Level 08) across various subject areas. To qualify, applicants must meet the requirements of nationality and residence. The applicant must be a Nigerian citizen and Lagos State resident. Also, academic qualifications require the presentation of your original certificates for SSCE (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), and your Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed/B.Sc Ed/B.A Ed). A

Also, for non-educational degrees, you can apply with your Non-Ed degree which includes a B.A, B.Sc, B.Eng, B.Tech, HND, PGDE), or NCE. However, this must be with relevant subject credentials. Finally, you must have completed NYSC or provide an official exemption and discharge certificate. 

Applicants must also be within the ages of 22-35, and should possess basic computer literacy as an advantage. 

How To Apply For Lagos TESCOM Recruitment

Here is a step-by-step guide to aid your application process via the recruitment portal. 

  • Portal Access: Visit the official TESCOM portal: *tescomjobs.lagosstate.gov.ng*  
  • Register or Log In: Use a valid email and create a strong password. (Some users experienced delays with email verification, but the portal allows login immediately in some cases.)  
  • Select Your Position: Choose the GL 08 role matching your qualifications, such as Education Officer II or Higher Instructor.  
  • Upload Documents: Scan and submit all original certificates (SSCE, degree/NCE, NYSC), birth certificate, means of ID, and a passport photograph (less than 300 KB).  
  • Submit Application: Complete the form, submit it before the July 14 deadline, and print your confirmation slip for screening.

After your application, shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or SMS and invited to partake in a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by oral interviews and document verification. Successful candidates will be deployed across Lagos State secondary schools based on subject needs and LGA vacancies.
